(BASTROP, TX) Bastrop Independent School District celebrated a significant milestone with the official dedication and ribbon cutting for Adelton Elementary School, the district’s ninth and newest elementary campus. This 105,000-square-foot campus was funded through the District’s most recent bond which was approved by Bastrop ISD voters in May 2023.
Chris M. Dillon, Bastrop ISD Board Vice-President, reflected on the significance of the day, saying, “This is not just a building. It is a space where young minds will grow, friendships will form, and futures will be shaped.”
Opened in August, Adelton Elementary now serves more than 500 students in Pre-K through 5th grade. Designed with the growing community in mind, the campus provides a safe, innovative, and inspiring learning environment.
Principal Denise Guerrero also shared her excitement and vision for the new school. “As we cut this ribbon, we open more than doors—we open possibilities, opportunities, and a new chapter already well underway. A chapter filled with curiosity, joy, learning, and love,” said Guerrero.
This celebration brought together district leaders, campus staff, parents, students, and community partners to mark the beginning of Adelton Elementary’s journey as a place of learning, growth, and opportunity.
Interim Superintendent Dr. Kristi Lee expressed gratitude for the community’s support of the 2023 bond and highlighted the power of partnerships. “Adelton Elementary is a promise we made together—that every child who walks through these doors each morning will be inspired, supported, and given the chance to become who they were meant to be,” she said. “It is a promise to our families that their hopes and dreams for their children matter to us. And they certainly do.”
